KARA, Girls’ Generation, T-ara and TVXQ have been ranked in the “Billboard Japan Hot 100 of the year 2011”. These four Korean idol groups had a collective of seven songs featured in this ranking.
KARA was the highest ranked Korean artist, with “Go Go Summer” at no. 8, and also had “Jetcoaster Love” and “Winter Magic” ranked at no. 12 and no. 53 respectively.
Girls’ Generation’s “Mr. Taxi” was ranked at no. 11, while “Gee” made it to no. 23. They were followed by TVXQ’s “Why (Keep Your Head Down)” which was at no. 30, and T-ara’s “Bo Peep Bo Peep” ranked at no. 86.
The top 2 positions of Billboard Japan’s Hot 100 were taken by AKB48, with “Everyday Kachuusha” and “Flying Get.”
Billboard Japan’s Hot 100 ranks singles by factoring actual sales data, iTunes Japan downloads as well as radio airplay.
