KARA’s popularity in Japan is truly unstoppable. In
less than a year, they released three albums in Japan that have
collectively sold more than 1 million copies.
KARA’s first Japanese album "Girls Talk" was released last November, and topped the Oricon daily album rankings. Recently, the Recording Industry Associaton of Japan (RIAJ) awarded "Girls Talk" the double platinum certification, indicating that the total sales of the album had exceeded 500,000 copies.
RIAJ also certified KARA’s best hits album "KARA BEST 2007 – 2010" (released September 2010) and their second Japanese album "Super Girl" as platinum, each selling over 250,000 copies so far. Like its predecessor, "Super Girl" has been doing well and topping the Oricon daily charts.
Aside from KARA, Korean powerhouse TVXQ’s new Japanese single "Winter~Winter Rose~" which was released on November 30th has been certified gold, with over 100,000 copies sold so far.
