Boy group T-Max officially disbands

12:04 PM

After various line-up changes, and members leaving the company, boy group T-Max is set to officially disband.

T-Max's last line-up featured members Kim Joon, Joo Chanyang, Park Hanbi and Shin Minchul. After Kim Joon's enlistment at the end of September, the group silenced the rumors of the group's disbandment by releasing "She's Crying".

Despite the efforts, it seems the group is set on disbanding after all as two members, Joo Chanyang and Shin Minchul, have already left the group's company. Planet905 revealed that Minchul's contract with the agency had already expired at the moment of Kim Joon's enlistment, and wasn't extended. Chanyang was also revealed to have left after his contract had ended. While Minchul is already preparing for solo activities, Chanyang is set on discovering new things in music. At the moment, member Park Hanbi is still contracted with Planet905.

T-Max debuted in 2007 with its line-up fixed on three members, Kim Joon, Shin Minchul and Park Yunhwa. After Yunhwa's enlistment, Chanyang and Hanbi were added to the group. They gathered fame through Kim Joon's involvement as one of the F4 flower boys in the "Boys Over Flowers" drama series.

Planet905 also released a statement through the group's official Facebook page earlier this week.

"Hello, this is Planet905.

We're so sorry that we have to give an unexpected farewell to the fans who really love T-Max. ㅠ.ㅠ

Planet905 canceled the exclusive contract with Joo Chanyang, which expired by mutual consent.

As we promised you in advance,
the T-Max members who have their individual actives promised to come back as various types of T-Max.
Planet905 respects the members' opinions and is always open for opportunities and maybe next T-Max albums and activities.

But,
Joo Chanyang wanted to go further in other field, not in entertainment,
so after a long discussion, we decided cancel his contract with planet905.

We've made the decision after pondering upon it long enough...
so please support Chanyang and his future with bright hope.

We know how much the fans hope all of T-Max members get back together again.
Planet905 is sorry to have caused you so much anxiety."
